Spiral Granny Square

So last night I was playing around with some yarn. I knew I could make a spiral Granny Square but wondered if I could do it with the traditional Granny Square shells. This is what I came up with.

Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Soft White, Shocking pink, Lavender, Teal

This pattern uses US terminology

Join pink to left of white and make a sc, hdc and dc in ring.

Join purple to left of pink and make a sc, hdc and dc in ring.

Join teal to left of purple and make a sc, hdc and dc in ring.

Rnd 2: Pick up white, *ch3 then 3 dc in first stitch of next colour (pink) Repeat from * with each colour.

Rnd 3: Pick up white, *[3dc, ch3, 3dc] in 3 chain space to make corner. Repeat from * with each colour.

Make several of these squares then join them together into a big fun blanket.

Or you could make one square and carry on increasing into a big blanket.
