This week I’ve been admiring rainbow crochet projects and thought you’d love a round-up post of them. Rainbow colors are so bright and cheery and these creations look so much fun to make and use!
All these projects have free written patterns, some include photos too. Most are good for beginners but can be enjoyed by all skill levels.
I think you can create a lot of different looks with these patterns – use up your yarn scraps and create different striped looks. Make them for yourself or as gifts for friends and family.
To get to the pattern page just CLICK ON THE PHOTO of the one you want.
I’ve hidden some Pins on this page so if you press the Pin button you can save to your Pinterest board.
Oh and don’t forget to browse around my site – I have my own free patterns too!
Including this awesome Spiral Rainbow Alien hat.

I found this fun granny square hat for kids. The pattern, which is very detailed and includes step-by-step photos, gives the option for this finish as well as an ear flaps option.
Next are two rainbow blanket patterns. The first one is the traditional 12-point star, made to look beautiful with rainbow colors separated by lines of white yarn. The link includes lots of photos of different color use and the pattern is a PDF download.
Second is this wonderful stained glass window themed blanket, also a PDF download. This looks really pretty and a fun challenge to make.
Here’s a cute little Rainbow baby outfit to buy.
I thought this stool cover was kind of neat due to the recent mandala craze. Its a great idea if you wanted to try out a mandala design and also add color to your home.
This rainbow spiral dream catcher is another way to add color to your home. It would look great on any wall and should be really fun to make. The link has a detailed written pattern as well as a photo tutorial.
Or brighten your home with this rainbow table cloth from Amazon.
This cup cozy could be really useful this winter. Take it with you and protect your hands from those hot take-out coffee cups.
If you need a place to store your hooks or stationery, this fun rainbow cloud pattern is for you. It’s a small project with a simple pattern – great for beginners!
Take your rainbows on the go with these fun cotton device covers. These are made from Lily Sugar n’cream yarn and the pattern is a PDF download from their website.
Or here is a rainbow ipad case you could buy.
Lastly I have two rainbow bag patterns for you.
First this shoulder bag looks really stylish and fun to make with it’s blended colors using the spike stitch.
And this – this is my absolute favorite! I really love the look of the crocodile stitch and here it is in beautiful rainbow yarn – so so pretty!
It’s hard to believe this one is free – but it is! It has a written pattern and even includes a video tutorial showing you how to work the crocodile stitch in the round.
Variegated yarns are really popular so there are so many options – just look for one with a slow color change.
Thank you for reading – I hope you enjoyed this post.
