Creating the diamond stitch in the round can be a little complicated. So, I thought it would be helpful if I made a video tutorial for you to crochet along with.
In this video I make a diamond cuff to demonstrate.
I start by chaining 24, but since the diamond stitch is a 4 stitch repeat, you can start by chaining any multiple of 4.
The diamond stitch is worked as a 2 row repeat, so once you have the foundation laid the rounds alternate between simple double crochet followed by a row of single crochet with diamond clusters.
Please be sure to check out my patterns that include the diamond stitch: Messy Bun/Beanie Hat and Infinity Scarf.

I mention in the video that I recently purchased a photo studio and lighting kit. I love using it to take photos of my projects and this is the first video I’ve made using it. It’s 24×24 inches so fits on a table top but has plenty of room inside. It came with 4 led lights, a really nice tripod and 4 fabric backdrops. You can check it out HERE.
Anyway, here is a written pattern for what I show you in the video or scroll down for the video.
Start by chaining a multiple of 4. Being careful not to twist the chain, slip stitch to join in the first chain.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, Sc in each chain and sl st to join in 1st sc (total stitches is same as starting chain)
Rnd 2: Ch 2, Dc in each stitch around. Sl st to join in top of first dc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in next stitch.
Make a fp tc2tog cluster by following these instructions:
Find 1st post: Looking at previous row, count back 2 dc posts. On the row below that, find the previous sc post. YO twice, insert hook around front of sc post, YO, pull through stitch, YO pull through 2 loops, YO pull through 2 loops. 2 loops left on hook.
Find 2nd post: Look at previous row, count forward 2 dc posts. On the row below that, find the next sc post. YO twice, insert hook around front of sc post, YO, pull through stitch, YO pull through 2 loops, YO pull through 2 loops. 3 loops left on hook. YO pull through all 3 loops.
*Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 stitches.
Fp Tc2tog cluster (Use instructions above, 1st post is same as 2nd post of last cluster)
Repeat from * around. (2nd part of last fp tc2tog should be around same 1st post at beginning of round)
After last fp tc2tog, sc2tog then sl st to join in top of first sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 2, dc in each around and sl st to join. (count stitches to make sure you maintain same number)
Rnd 5: Sl st in next, ch 1, sc in each of next 2. *Fp tc2tog around previous and next triangle points. Sc2tog. Sc in each of next 2. Rep from * around. After last tc2tog, sl st to join in top of first sc.
Rnd 6: Ch 2, dc in each around. Sl st to join.
Rnd 7: Ch 1, *fp tc2tog around previous and next triangle points. Sc2tog. Sc in each of next 2. Rep from * around. After last tc2tog, sc2tog, sc in next and Sl st to join.
Rnd 8: Ch 2, dc in each around. Sl st to join.
Rnd 9: Sl st in next, ch 1, sc in next.*fp tc2tog around previous and next triangle points. Sc2tog. Sc in each of next 2. Rep from * around. After last sc2tog, sl st to join.
Fasten off and weave in ends or if you want a longer piece keep repeating the alternating rows.

Merci
