Here’s another spiral Granny Square I came up with while experimenting with yarn. I’ve written out the free crochet pattern and made a video tutorial for you. Maybe you can make lots and turn them into a fun granny square afghan blanket, or just make one and keep increasing until it’s enormous!
Pattern in US terminology
Red Heart Super Saver yarn – soft white, shocking pink, lavender, teal
Hook – I/9 5.5mm
Using white: Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to make a ring. Sc, hdc, dc in ring. Join pink to left of white then sc, hdc and dc in ring. Join purple to left of pink then sc, hdc, dc in ring. Join teal to left of purple then sc, hdc, dc in ring.
Rnd 2: Pick up white, *ch3 and dc in each of next 3 stitches. Rep from * with each colour.
Rnd 3: Pick up white, *[2dc, ch3, 2dc] in chain 3 space. Rep from * with each colour.
Rnd 4: Pick up white, *dc in each of next 4 stitches, [2dc, ch3, 2dc] in chain 3 space. Rep from * with each colour.
Rnd 5: Pick up white, *dc in each of next 7 stitches, [2dc, ch3, 2dc] in chain 3 space. Rep from * with each colour.
Rnd 6: Pick up white, *dc in each of next 2 stitches, hdc in each of next 2, sc in next 2, sl st in next and fasten off. Rep from * with each colour.
