Children’s Summer Dresses Free Patterns

Summer is here so I decided to make a list of super cute summer dresses you could make for the little girl in your life.

I saw so many beautiful designs that it was hard to narrow it down to just these 13.

The patterns I’ve chosen to feature have different skill levels so there are some for beginners as well as others for more experienced crocheters.

All these dresses can be made in toddler sizes and some of them in other sizes too. I’ve included a little info below each one.

I also made a round up post of women’s crochet summer dresses too – you can find that HERE.

First up is this simple yet stylish SUMMER CHEER sundress. This is an easy repeating pattern that newer crocheters could attempt.

The pattern includes instructions on how to make the dress in different sizes as well as a bonus pattern for the kerchief too!

I love the intricate design of this little minty GEMSTONE DRESS. This one is for experienced crocheters and looks like a lot of fun to make. It fits ages 2-3 years.

Next I found this colorful RAINBOW DRESS. It’s for ages 2-3 but includes instructions to make different sizes. It looks a little like a giant granny square so should be quite easy for beginners to make.

The ALLISON DRESS is rated as intermediate. The pattern includes 3 sizes with the biggest being 2 years. There are also other photos on the page showing a beautiful red with orange stripe version of this dress.

This BERMUDA DRESS is beautiful, made to look like the ocean, sand and sunset. On the page there are also photos of a dreamy turquoise, lavender and purple version. The pattern is written but includes very detailed step by step photos so can be attempted by less experienced crocheters. Fits age 7 years.

This little PINEAPPLE CASCADE DRESS is aimed at babies but size can vary. It can also work as a cute top for girls. The pattern is rated intermediate.

This sweet MANGO SUNDRESS is easy to make. There are 3 sizes available from 1-5 years.

This LACEY LAVENDER DRESS looks fun to work up. It fits ages 2-3 years and the difficulty is intermediate.

The adorable SELINA SUNDRESS includes a bonus headband pattern. It has several sizes from 0 to 2 years. This pattern is easy and suitable for beginners.

This cream VINTAGE STYLE DRESS is an intermediate pattern and fits ages 2-3 years.

I love the sweet little rows of TULIPS in this dress. Only the top section is crocheted and then tulle fabric is sewn on to make the skirt. It can be made to fit ages 1-4 years.

This TULIP CHEVRONS DRESS is intended for a baby but sizes can vary or it can be a top for an older child too.

I really love this QUIVER FAN DRESS with it’s beautiful rows of colors. And that sweet little hat to match too! The dress fits ages 2-3 years and the pattern is rated as intermediate.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy all these free patterns.

Please leave a comment below – I’d love to know which is your favorite and if you decided to give one a go!

  1. These are all SO CUTE! I want to take up crocheting just so I can do this. The pattern with the tule is my favourite!

    1. Thank you for your comment. Two of these dresses include instructions for other sizes: the first (white) one and the rainbow one. The Bermuda one might be able to be made a little bigger too? Hope this helps. However, I’ll bear your comment in mind and look to doing an older children’s dress post in the future.

  2. So many beautiful dress you made 🥰
Do you have some for a new born? The baby girl is not born yet 😌
